چکیده
Abstract The Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) is part of ESA’s Earth Program. satellite carries magnetometers that control the activity magnetorquers for navigation satellite, but are not dedicated as science instruments. However, intrinsic steady states instruments can be corrected by alignment calibration, artificial perturbations, e.g. from currents, removed their characterisation correlated to housekeeping data. leftover then shows natural evolution variability Earth’s magnetic field. This article describes pre-processing input data well calibration steps performed on GOCE data, using a high-precision model reference. For geomagnetic quiet times, standard deviation residual below 13 nT with median (11.7, 9.6, 10.4) three components ( x , y z ). validation performance, we selected storm event in March 2013. show good agreement results ground observation network. mission overlaps CHAMP short time at beginning 2010, does overlap Swarm or any other flying low altitude carrying magnetometers. We expect calibrated useful lithospheric modelling filling gap between missions Swarm. Graphic

متن کاملUse of Topography in the Context of the Goce Satellite Mission – Some Examples
The uppermost masses of the lithosphere notably the land topography, bathymetry and ice make a significant contribution to the gravity signal captured by ESA’s GOCE gravity mission [1,2]. This circumstance is used 1) to evaluate ESA GOCE gravity field models of all generations, 2) to evaluate various topographic data sets and 3) to compute a global Bouguer gravity anomaly map. All of the above ...
متن کاملOn the joint inversion of SGG and SST data from the GOCE mission
The computation of spherical harmonic coefficients of the Earth’s gravity field from satellite-to-satellite tracking (SST) data and satellite gravity gradiometry (SGG) data is considered. As long as the functional model related to SST data contains nuisance parameters (e.g. unknown initial state vectors), assembling of the corresponding normal matrix must be supplied with the back-substitution ...
متن کاملGravity Field Analysis from the Satellite Missions CHAMP and GOCE
This work describes global gravity field modeling from observations of the CHAMP and the GOCE satellite mission. In the case of CHAMP the so-called Energy Balance Approach is applied to measurements of GPS high-low tracking of the low orbiting CHAMP spacecraft. In the case of GOCE gravity gradiometry is the main observable. The experience gained processing real data of the CHAMP satellite missi...
